Happy Birthday.
I was not looking forward to my birthday this year... at all. Not because I fear getting older. I mean, that's kinda irrational. 'Cause, well, you can't stop it. I wasn't looking forward to it because I felt like it was going to be a non-event. I had to go to Chicago for work the night of my birthday... so no birthday night celebrations. Matt was away last weekend, and is away this weekend... so no drunkie-bar birthday celebrations (lol, at last not this weekend). And I've just been so hella busy at work, that I haven't had much time to actually think about WHAT I would want to actually DO to celebrate.

But you know what? I had a great day.

I woke up to my mom and dad singing The Beatles' "You say it's your birthday", like they do every year. (Too funny). I had already opened up presents the night before, 'cause I wasn't going to be home... so I took my time getting to work. I had a lot on my mind, because I had a major event at work to execute today... but I didn't let it stand in the way of my surprise when (1) Anthony and Reen left cupcakes and a fun balloon on my desk, and then when (2) Barbara called everyone to a meeting, which was just an excuse for... MORE CUPCAKES! (Have I mentioned that I love cupcakes?) And throughout the day, I received calls, e-mails and text messages from family and friends, near and far, wishing me happiness on my special day.

And it's not an important day to most people... but it's the most important day in my life. ;) (And according to my mom, it's pretty high up there for she and my dad, too). ;)

Start to finish, it was a great day.
