Hartford Schmartford...
This weekend was a great time. I had a feeling before it even started that it was going to be "big"... and boy it was.
  • Friday
Work was pretty good. The crazy wasn't around, so I wasn't running around like a chicken with my head cut off doing shit for her. The weather was amazing... perfect weather for happy-hour beer drinking. Met up with Brian, George, Doreen, Hooch, and a bunch of others for a few great hours at Jeremy's. I promised Hooch that it wasn't going to be a big night, 'cause we had a big weekend ahead of us... but I broke that promise. We were drunk... and after a quick hot pocket snack, we passed out until the morning.

  • Saturday
I woke up and was instantly energized, despite my massive hangover. FIRST SHOW OF THE SUMMER! Brian got here on time... and Hooch and I were a half-hour late. Like usual! We made pretty good time to Hartford... and then the real "challenge" presented itself. One of the first signs we saw outside of the parking lot next to our hotel said NO TAILGATING... uh oh... and that wasn't even the venue lot! We were screwed. So we decided to put the bbq stuff on ice, and to bring the beers to the pool. We made it to the show JUST in time. It wasn't the best setlist, but I didn't really care. What I did care about is that it ended, seemingly before it was over. :(

After the show, we all made our way to the "third pole", the designated meeting spot. (I could not help but think of the Gorge's COKE SIGN. *sigh*) As we were waiting on line for a hot dog, all of a sudden people started coughing, myself included. My lungs were burning, my eyes were watering. We're not sure who did it... cops? asshole fans? Whoever did it deserves to be strung up by their genitals! Needless to say, I won't be attending a show in Hartford any time soon. Ugh.

EDIT (9:13 pm): Here are photos from the weekend

  • Sunday
It wasn't the best night's sleep I've ever had... I kept tossing and turning, and my throat was killing me. It's still killing me. We ran downstairs for some breakfast before showers and hitting the road. It was a pretty uneventful trip home, which is always a good thing. Sunday, Father's Day, means the Park Slope 7th Ave Street Fair!! After coming in for a little bit, I went outside to walk around. Street fairs are fun, but not as much fun as when you're walking around with others.

And now it's the evening... I did a little cleaning around the apartment and am about to eat din din. I'm pooped. Pooped Pooped Pooped... but will rest safely tonight, knowing that we had a great weekend, and I'm looking forward to a lovely week.
