I almost burned down my apartment
Some randomness for a Tuesday morning...
  • I finally got my tickets for Carbon Leaf at Irving Plaza. Took me long enough!
  • Had dinner at "Blue Ribbon" in Brooklyn last night. Was totally unplanned and unexpected. Was so good. Tried a new wine... a Pino Noir... it was expensive. I forgot to look at the price before I ordered. Whoops! Oh well... it was still good.
  • I'm starting to get sad, but am doing my best not to. I'm doing my best to live in the now... doing my best.

  • Two years ago this weekend, there was a HUGE snow storm. I think that we got 25 inches in Brooklyn. After three days in my apartment, I got cabin fever... so I decided to go out for a cup of coffee and an apple turnover. I was working from home, and didn't get to the turnover, so I saved it for later. That night, while on the phone, I put the turnover in the toaster oven to get nice and warm. What seemed like two seconds later, I look over at the oven to see flames shooting out of the oven and up the wall. THANK GOD I had a fire extinguisher on hand. I whipped the sucker out, put out the fire, put the toaster oven and said apple turnover out on the fire escape, and proceeded to freak out. Remember? I was on the phone the whole time. I put the phone down to put out the fire, but still... it was a little nerve wracking.

I don't want to be at work today... what else is new? Hopefully it will be a less stressful day than it was on Friday. So far, so good. It's a short week here at work, which is always good. But I'm sure that because I am not looking forward to Friday coming, it will get here faster than ever. Joy... and rapture.
